Kritika Kamra likes flawed characters

Date :  18/06/2015    Courtesy :

The more imperfect the character, the more actor Kritika Kamra enjoys it. She doesn’t want to play safe with her choice of roles and would rather choose the ones that depict real life.

Kamra — who essays the role of an impatient, ambitious journalist in the ongoing TV show, Reporters — says: “I really like flawed characters, as they are very close to reality. Somehow we are stuck with black and white characters. Either you are shown to be really bad or the best. I find the middle path to be more appealing.”

The 26-year-old feels that conflict adds spice to the story. “In my last show, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, I played a doctor. In my current show, I’m a reporter whose boss has a completely different way of working than hers. So, the conflict makes the story interesting,” adds Kamra, whose chemistry with co-star Rajeev Khandelwal has been appreciated by viewers.

“This is the first time we’re working together and we’ve become good friends. Anyway, I don’t think your onscreen chemistry has anything to do with your off screen chemistry with anybody. If you play your part with honesty and there is an understanding with each other, then the chemistry is visible,” she says.

Diet food and supplements are definitely a must-have for all our actors who work day and night to keep us entertained. But the most important thing that all these actors crave for is ‘ghar ka khana’. There's something insanely satisfying about digging into homemade food, with the delicious aromas of our favourite foods keeping us company throughout the day. just got to know that the team at Reporters (Rose Audio Visuals Pvt Ltd) bonds over homemade food!

Shares a source from the sets, “In this scorching summer, all the actors make sure that they get their food from home, which is not only healthy and hygienic, but also tastier!"

Last weekend (on April 25), the team shared one another's dabbas on the sets. Kritika Kamra, Rajeev Khandelwal, Puru Chibber, and director/co-producer Goldie Behl were seen having a gala time gorging on yummy food.

Armed with the information, we buzzed Puru, who shared, “As we were all taking a lunch break, I suggested that we should eat together instead of settling in our vanities. It was a way to have variety of food (laughs). I feel that Indians bond the best over food. And I must say that we are a great team and have a fabulous time whether we are shooting or eating."

Wow, it’s rightly said that the family that eats together stays together!

Way to go, guys.

The Internet success of Kritika-Vikrant’s Best Girlfriend to set a series rolling

Date : 17th  Feb. 2015  Courtesy :

Writer-director Navjot Gulati's short film Best Girlfriend starring Kritika Kamra and Vikrant Massey has become a hit on the internet. Reportedly, the short has registered a big number of hits, inspiring the writer-director to plan a web-series called Local Girlfriend.

Asked if he expected this response, Navjot says, "Since Kritika and Vikrant are famous on television, I thought that would help the short get some mileage. But we had not expected to get so many hits, 12,20,000 at last count (February 17, 2015). Now I'm planning to make a webseries called Local Girlfriend. It's going to be a different idea and not related to Best Girlfriend. Let's see how people react to it."

Interestingly, the idea came from cinematographer Amit Roy, who's directorial debut RunningShaadi.Com featuring Amit Sadh and Taapse Pannu is written by Navjot. "Amit once told me about a this incident that happened with his friend, who, after being in a relationship for six months, discovered that she was an escort," he says, adding that Kritika, though a very good friend, wasn't his first choice. "The girl we had first chosen, couldn't make it. So Kritika came in at the last minute."

While he's awaiting the release of RunningShaadi.Com, Navjot is giving finishing touches to his next script, a quirky romantic drama he's planning to direct. "I'm in talks with some studios and have got positive response. It all depends on the last round of meetings," he sums up.

Mumbai: Actress Kritika Kamra, the host of cyber crime-related TV show 'Webbed 2', became a victim of hacking. Her email and Facebook accounts were hacked recently, but she says her experience on the show helped her take notice of the issue quickly.

"My Gmail and Facebook accounts were recently hacked into. Someone sent me a Google document claiming it was a script. I clicked on it only to find a blank document. The next thing I knew - my accounts were hacked. But the tips I learned from the show really helped me identify this immediately," said Kritika.

She said that in one of the episodes of the show, she learnt that Gmail gives a user an option of logging into his or her account via multiple devices or restricting login to one device at a time.

"So if you choose the restricted setting, Gmail alerts you in case someone is trying to log into your account from another device. This is what alerted me and prevented the hacker from doing damage," she said.

This is not the first time that Kritika has faced this hacking.

"Such a thing happened to me in the past too and back then my images and other important documents were stolen. But this time I was prepared. Now thanks to what I learned on the show, I surf smart and hence I stayed safe," she added.

"Webbed 2" is a show conceptualized to raise awareness about the safe usage of the internet. It was recently extended to 24 episodes from the initial run of 16 episodes due to its increasing popularity.

'I know that Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is all about great dance and the popularity of the actors. I don't know what went wrong with me. I really don’t know how it works.'

Kritika Kamra analyses her stint in the dance reality show.

Television actress Kritika Kamra has just got eliminated from the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

Kritika was a favourite with the audiences but the judges were not happy with inconsistence in her performances. She and partner Savio Barnes had a tough time staying afloat with decent scores.

With a knockout performance in the Face Off round against Puja Banerjee, Kritika and Savio upped the ante on the quality of their performance.

But it came a little too late.

"Honestly, I was surprised when I reached the bottom two. I was improving with every performance. I got the best comments from the judges for my elimination and last performance,” said Kritika.

The 'Kitni Mohabbat Hai' actress got positive feedback for her performances from the judges be it her debut 3D act or Bollywood and Dandiya mix dance style. "I am clueless. I actually don't know what went wrong. I was really improving with my every performance on the show.

The elimination was shocking for me. Nevertheless, it was a good learning experience for me to be a part of the show. It was a great journey," Kritika told PTI. The 25-year-old actress was paired with choreographer Savio Barnes, was had a tough time in the past seasons to make partners like Bharti Singh and Meghna Malik match steps with him.

Kritika says she is feeling bad for her choreographer. "I think I had got one of the best choreographers on the show. He was patient and hard-working. He did his best for me. I am feeling sorry for him that he could not win the show because of me. For me, winning was not my goal. I just wanted to learn," she said.

Kritika was pitted against another TV actress Puja Bose for the face off on the Colors' show. After her last soap opera 'Kuch Toh Log Kahenge', Kritika took a break from TV for three years. She returned to the small screen as a host with show 'MTV Webbed'.

"I am not in hurry to sign a new project. I will take my time and will choose something which will help me grow as an actress. My stint in 'Jhalak' was also good as I learnt many new dance forms on the show. I will continue dancing and it will help me in sharpening my acting skills," she added.

'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'  is now left with 10 celebrity contestants who will perform with their professional choreographer partners and will be judged by actress Madhuri Dixit, filmmaker Karan Johar and  choreographer Remo D Souza.

Reality shows give good exposure, says Kritika Kamra

 DATE : 19/05/2014    Courtesy :

After a break of over a year, Kritika Kamra will return to TV with the celebrity dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 (JDJ). The actor, who has been part of shows like Kuch Toh Log Kahenge and Kitni Mohabbat Hai, says that she is participating in the show for the exposure it will give her, and that she will soon return to acting in serials.

You have been away from TV for a year. What kept you busy?
I’d gone to Europe for a long holiday and I did a theatre workshop once I returned. I took it easy during my break with workouts and spending time with family and friends.

Is it true that the Ekta Kapoor film you were working on is shelved?
I don’t know the exact status; I think it’s delayed. I guess even they (the makers) don’t know (about the status) clearly right now. I was looking forward to it and preparing for it too. If it is supposed to happen, it will.

Do you feel reality shows are a ticket to fame?
Reality shows give a lot of exposure as they are popular formats. I have watched many, so it’s great to be on one. I’ve already got good response after the promos went on air. Their reach is the main reason (why actors want to be on them). I’m happy to be on this show.

Do you think a reality show is also a good medium to show your real self? For example, Drashti Dhami broke her bahu image and surprised many with her sexy avatar.
It won’t be an image breaker of sorts for me, because I never played a typical bahu. Moreover, although I’ve never had inhibitions about what to wear, on TV, one has to stick to characters.

After years of acting on television, many actresses take up hosting reality shows or do roles in films. Do you have such plans?
I came here to act and that’s what gives me maximum satisfaction. Everything else is on the periphery. But I did television shows non-stop for five-six years, and doing a daily soap gets monotonous after a while. I wanted to try out other things as well. I will surely act again on television. There’s no doubt there.

A lot has been said about your love life of late. Are you dating anyone currently?
I am not single. But I don’t want to say anymore. It’s too soon.

I did participate in a dance competition during my school days but nothing of this level. So I'll give my best and then let's see of what happens."

There are three big celebs who'll be judging the show - Madhuri Dixit Nene, Karan Johar and Remo D'zouza. He is one favorite people on Television for me. I've watched all his shows from Koffee With Karan to India's Got Talent. I think he is one who is very talented and entertaining."

Has Kritika planned any strategies to win the show? She avers,  "What strategies yaar... it's too early to do all that. Also I'm here to dance and not to plan anything of that sort. I'm new to this level of dancing so for me, I'll be working hard and hope that we get good comments by the judges."

Who is Kritika's tough competitor? This is what she replies, "This year we have a great line-up. I know some of them like Shakti Mohan, Mouni Roy, Pooja Bose and Karan Tacker who are good dancers. It's too early to say who's going to be your competitor yaar. I just know that I'll give my best and rest is on the judges and audiences."

Kritika Kamra, who is seen hosting 'Webbed', is all smiles as her kid brother, Rahul, is set to make his debut in her show. Though Rahul was also seen playing a part in an episode of 'Gumrah', his sister insists that this episode revolves around him. And guess what? The actress didn't know that her brother was finalised and only learnt about it a day prior.

Says Kritika, "Had I known about it, I wouldn't have allowed him to take it up as his exams were on. Programming head of the channel, Vikas Gupta, finalised him and I got wind of it much later. That's when I started nagging him by asking him to behave nicely as it's my show. I didn't give him any acting tips. I didn't see him act as I am required to do anchor links after the shoot." So, does Rahul plan to follow in his sister's footsteps and pursue acting as career? "I don't think so. That doesn't seem like a possibility as of now," asserts the actress.

  • Television actor Kritika Kamra was in town recently to spread awareness about cyber-crimes and requested the youth to be super cautious to avoid dangers lurking online. DNA Correspondent DNA

Television actor Kritika Kamra is the pretty host of the all-new season of MTV Webbed. She was in town recently to spread awareness about cyber-crimes and requested the youth to be super cautious to
avoid dangers lurking online. Heena Menon Grover catches up with her.

What inspired you to take up MTV webbed?

After having done some great work in fiction shows, I had been looking forward to similar breaks. When MTV Webbed 2 came my way, I knew I had to do it. I’m now all set to embark upon my first ever project as the host of a show, and I’m very excited. However, what is important to note is, that as a young actor who has a majorly young fan-following, ‘Webbed season 2’ is the perfect fit for me. It’s a
show that reaches out to the youth and talks to them about their world, their life and their relationships which today, are all online. To host a show that connects directly with my own personal fan-base, I think is a step in the right direction for me.

You were in Pune recently for the promotion of the show, how did the crowd respond to the show?

The crowd’s response was phenomenal. I was at a mall where we had young people participating in a flash-mob contest about cyber-crime. The turnout of people at the mall was very encouraging. I’m thankful for all the love being showered upon me by the people of Pune.

Pune being a city of young people, especially college goers who come here from every part of the country, what message would you give out to them about cyber-crime?

We all live our lives online these days. We’re constantly connected, always sharing, posting, liking, adding pictures…our lives are literally lived through status updates. The internet is a wonderful
place which provides us with information and entertainment but at the same time, it is essential to arm oneself with information that will help us protect ourselves online.

Do you feel cyber-crime as a subject should be made compulsory in schools/colleges?

We have computer lessons in schools. If not a whole subject, we definitely need to include a few chapters on cyber-safety which could help children and youngsters keep themselves safe online. A basic
understanding of what messages to open, how to set up privacy settings on social media platforms, basic do’s and don’ts could probably help prevent a lot of unfortunate situations.

Do you have any anecdote to share where you or anyone close to you had to face cyber-crime?

As a celebrity, I’ve had my share of irate fans, people who post hate comments and who can sometimes act a little creepy. But otherwise, I’ve not personally experienced any extremely negative or scary
situations online. But yes, I’ve heard about colleagues from the TV fraternity whose pages have been hacked, phone numbers been leaked and all sorts of scary things. It is hence important for all of us to be a little cautious online.

A lot of TV actors have tried their luck in Bollywood, such as Yami Gautam, Ayushmann Khurana, and many more. Bollywood calling?

As of now I’m pretty excited about my current project with MTV. There’s a movie project lined up but the dates aren’t fixed yet.

Your thoughts about Pune?

I keep coming to Pune. I have friends here. I absolutely love this city for its youthful energy and vibrant culture.

Actors are an easy target for cyber crimes

Date : 28/03/2014      Courtesy :

New Delhi: Technology can be a boon or bane! Popular TV actress Kritika Kamra, who has taken a break from fiction shows to host a show dealing with cyber crime, says actors are more susceptible to frauds in the digital space; therefore, it is not advisable to share "intimate photos and personal details".

Kritika is a narrator on the show and will take viewers through 13 episodes, informing about real life cases of cyber abuse and precautionary measures to be taken.

The actress, an avid user of social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter, has been a victim too.

"Actors are an easy target for cyber crimes. Identity theft is common - accounts are hacked, fake accounts are made, and sometimes they are so identical to the original account that it`s hard to tell; our photographs are gets used to it, but we know we can`t put out too much personal information," Kritika told.

Popular for featuring in shows like "Kitani Mohabbat Hai" and "Kuch Toh Log Kahenge", the young actress is dependent on social media not just for staying connected to her friends and fans but also for keeping abreast on world news.

"It`s the age of social media," said the 25-year-old, adding that she would never reveal her contact details online.

She says it makes complete sense to bring a show like this on a youth channel in the current times, when dependency on social media is at an all-time high. The show will go on air April 4.

Kritika agrees that there is a pool of advantages that the online world offers to a celebrity.

"It helps us to build a direct contact with our fans, and get instant feedback for our thoughts and work," said the actress, whose Facebook fanpage has been hacked in the past.

Now she is extra careful of whom she befriends on her personal page. She says youth need to make an individual decision about where to draw the line.

Suggesting her top five tips to avoid misuse of one`s social networking account, she said:

* Not all your personal information needs to be shared. It makes it easy to track you or be exploited.

* Be wary of sharing intimate pictures, which you think can be either misused or misinterpreted.

TV actress Kritika Kamra shares useful tips to avoid cyber crime (see pics)

New Delhi: Technology can be a boon or bane! Popular TV actress Kritika Kamra, who has taken a break from fiction shows to host "MTV Webbed 2", about the prevalence of cyber abuse, says actors are more susceptible to frauds in the digital space; therefore, it is not advisable to share "intimate photos and personal details".

Identity theft is common - accounts are hacked, fake accounts are made, and sometimes they are so identical to the original account that it's hard to tell; our photographs are gets used to it, but we know we can't put out too much personal information," Kritika told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Popular for featuring in shows like "Kitani Mohabbat Hai" and "Kuch Toh Log Kahenge", the young actress is dependent on social media not just for staying connected to her friends and fans but also for keeping abreast on world news.

"It's the age of social media," said the 25-year-old, adding that she would never reveal her contact details online.

She says it makes complete sense to bring a show like "MTV Webbed 2" on youth channel MTV in current times, when dependency on social media is at an all-time high.

Suggesting her top five tips to avoid misuse of one's social networking account, she said:

* Not all your personal information needs to be shared. It makes it easy to track you or be exploited.

* Be wary of sharing intimate pictures, which you think can be either misused or misinterpreted.

* If you make relationships and friends online, try to know the people beyond their virtual identity before baring all.

* Get your account verified if you're a public figure or have a fanpage with a large following.

* Also be careful of checking the date stamp to see when you had logged in last. You can ensure that no one is misusing your account.

Indian TV actresses Kritika Kamra and Ishita Sharma have lent support to a Food for Soul initiative, which encourages people to make donations towards the welfare of the underprivileged.

Indian TV Actresses Support Food Initiative for Underprivileged

The initiative has been launched by popular food ordering portal Foodpanda in association with Uday Foundation.

So far, Foodpanda has helped satiate food cravings by helping customers to order food online. Their new campaign now encourages patrons to generously feed the lesser privileged.

Kritika, who was seen in "Kuch Toh Log Kahenge", believes that the campaign lends a means of supporting such people.

"While we don't think twice before eating out or ordering in whenever we wish, there is a very significant category of society which has to make do with the bare minimum when it comes to satiating their hunger," she said in a statement.

Ishita, her co-star of "Kuch Toh...", said: "It gives each one of us an opportunity to make a difference in our own way to enrich a child's life and put a smile on his face. I am glad to have done my bit for the campaign and would encourage others to share this feeling as well."

To do your bit, Foodpanda patrons can log on to the website and make a donation to a listed food item like foodgrains, pulses, vegetable oil, biscuits and so on. The portal will then forward the proceedings to the charitable institution, thus reaching out to many children who deserve to live a healthy and happy life.

The campaign backs Uday Foundation's ongoing project Santushti, which runs a free food van to serve wholesome food to families of the underprivileged patients in ICUs of government hospitals. The van also feeds children who come from distant places to Delhi hospitals for long treatments.

Rohit Chadda, managing director and founder - said: "This campaign aims at extending our concept of food delivery services to a different stratum of society and touching their lives through the gift of food."

Kritika Kamra, who was last seen in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, the remake of Pakistani soap Dhoop Kinare, is all set to host Webbed 2 on MTV. The show deals with cyber crime and for Kritika, who is active on social networking websites it’s perfect. It will also be a way for her to connect with GenNext. Says Kritika, “I made my debut on a youth channel and even Kitani Mohabbat Hai was youthful. My fans comprise youngsters and school going kids so I am glad to be back on a youth channel. Also, I am an internet addict. The show is about telling the new users that internet is not a monster, but one has to be careful in an unknown territory.” When asked if she has ever been a target of cyber crime, the pretty actress says apart from people reacting negatively to her opinion or commenting nastily on her personal life, she hasn’t faced any drastic problem.“Even these things happen only because I am an actor. Though it does affect one’s morale, one learns to ignore,” says Kritika. What about the online stories that she was sporting love bites? “I am furious with that report. There’s no truth to it. They don’t even have pictures. They just used my Twitter display picture to make up a story,” she says vehemently. Ask her if she is seeing anybody and she smiles, “I am happily single but I have seen stories about me having  got back (with Karan Kundra) and at times link-ups with others. I just laugh them off.”

Real fashion on reel! Kritika Kamra, Surbhi Jyoti to Manasi Salvi and Madhu Raja are some of the most stylish actresses on the small screen who avoided excessive embellishment and brought a refreshing trend on telly with their stylized and elegant wardrobes.

They are instrumental in elevating the sartorial style from blingy to classy with a range of classic saris, dresses and salwar-kameez's.

IANS picks up 10 such refreshing faces from 2013 who shunned flashy clothes, which had dominated the small screen for a long time, and impressed with their distinctive styles:

* Zoya in "Qubool Hai" played by Surbhi Jyoti: Surbhi plays Zoya, an US-based girl who comes to India in search of her father. She is an intelligent, independent and modern girl and her wardrobe reflects the fusion of traditional and modern look. Her ethnic attire, especially sharara pants with intricate embroidery work, backless blouses or intricate anarkali suits with floral scarves certainly, are likeable and imitable.

From sequin tops, short skirts and little black dresses to stilettos, sling bags, red lipsticks to fringe cut hairstyle - she flaunted each and every style with panache. Whatever she wore had some kind of drama, something that a Gen-next girl would aspire to flaunt.

On the other hand, her character of a nagging wife in "Comedy Nights..." flaunts saris in a glamorous avatar. The bright hues teamed with sleeveless and deep neck blouses gives the six-yard wonder an interesting twist.

* Avantika in "Pyaar Ka Dard Hai" played by Manasi Salvi: When we think about style and fashion, we usually think about modern dresses but Avantika, seen as a mother of a grown up and married son in the show, has given a glamorous twist to saris. She drapes the six-yard effortlessly with Chinese-collars or velvet blouses. Her stylish jewellery enhances her look. Must say she is one of the few small screen characters who wears saris with so much of class.

* Doctor Nidhi in "Kuch Toh Log Kahenge" played by Kritika Kamra: Like any ordinary girl, Nidhi was mostly seen in short kurta and churidaar. With minimal make-up and her straight silky locks, she stood apart. The uniqueness of her wardrobe lied in her simplicity. “Mumbai is all about the food and nightlife for me” – Kritika Kamra

Date : 22/10/2013  Courtesy :

17370650Television actress Kritika Kamra still fondly remembered as ‘Dr. Nidhi’ from Sony TV’s Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, shares with what she loves most about the city of Mumbai!

How is Mumbai different from any other city?

After having grown up in Delhi and then moving to Mumbai later, I feel that this city is one of the most fast paced ones I’ve ever come across, as there is just so much happening here. Mumbai is somehow always buzzing with life which I just find so awesome, as I am a very restless person who needs a lot to be happening in life. According to me, this is what makes the city of Mumbai different from others.

What is that one thing you can’t live without in this city?

Autos are the one thing I can’t live without in this city. They are most convenient on the days your driver decides to ditch you, and of course make life much easier in regard with the parking issues in this city.

What do you love the most about Mumbai?

There are a lot of things I love about this awesome city, but the warm and friendly people are definitely what I love the most about Mumbai. They’re always very helpful and kind, and at the same time not interfering or poking their noses into anything they shouldn’t be.

What do you hate the most about Mumbai?

I hate the potholes, roads and traffic situation in Mumbai. It’s really bad in comparison with other metropolitan cities, so I strongly feel that these things should be taken care of really soon.

Vada Pav or Bhel Puri?

I am a very ‘Street Food’ person and so for me, it’s both Vada Pav and Bhel Puri.

If you have a tourist who has never been to Mumbai before, where would you take him/her?

Mumbai is all about the food and nightlife for me, so I would take people who haven’t been here before to a happening night club or some great restaurants around town, like maybe a good Irani one or Mohammad Ali road too! Besides that, I would just drive them around Gateway of India, The Taj, Marine Drive, Worli Sea face etc which is the regular drill.

A place that can instantly cheer you up?

I love the sea and places facing the sea too, and luckily my home window faces the sea, so just sitting there and looking out at the sea which is a beautiful view of course, can instantly cheer me up.

Where can you have more fun- Suburbs or Town?

If Bandra is considered part of the suburbs then I would say the suburbs, because I can always have fun in Bandra! It”s just a great area to be in, which practically has anything and everything possible. It’s an ideal area where I can just spend my entire day.

Name a place in Mumbai where you can never ever get bored?

There are so many places so naming one would be unfair, but I can never ever get bored at Gadda Da Vida Novotel, Pali Village Cafe, Pali Bhavan, a night club called OR-GY in Bandra which is a complete comfort zone for me, Cafe Zoey, The Comedy Store, The Yoga Studio which is a small beautiful cafe and any place facing the sea of course.

Flames to dust, lovers to friends

Small screen actor, Karan Kundra believes that if there is proper closure and the couple can talk about their woes, then there is no harm in being friends or even hanging out together. At a recent film party in Mumbai, Karan was partying with his ex, Kritika Kamra. “We had a blast together. There is no bad blood between us and I have utmost respect for Kritika," says the actor adding that nothing has changed between them barring the 'relationship tag'. Actress turned producer Tanishaa Mukerji vehemently refutes the whole concept. “I do not think exes can be friends because after a relationship ends you are either too familiar with each other, which could, in turn affect your next relationship. Or, you are too distant, in which case there is nothing really there to hold on to," she asserts.

Back in the day, when a relationship went sour, couples would refuse to even acknowledge each other, let alone hang out in the same circle of friends. “I think today's generation is way more mature in their thought process and know what they want from life. Their priorities are more defined and hence, they don't see the big deal in hanging out with each other," Karan expresses. The 'Ek Glassy' singer, Hard Kaur, partially agrees with Karan when she talks about the new crop of lovers. “People today, do not feel bad about moving on after a breakup. There could be many reasons for ex-lovers to be friends after they decide to part ways. One could be to keep an eye on the ex, while the other could be to remain friends, but with benefits. Personally, I cannot do that. My self-respect is way too high to do either of the two," she says.

But what if the 'once upon friends' became lovers? Or, the two individuals value each other more than the relationship they had? Hard Kaur says that she does not dismiss the idea that there could be a connect which is extremely strong between the man and the woman. “Sometimes they would want to retain or revive that special bond even if there is no relationship to hold on to. Two individuals can be great friends but disastrous lovers," she feels. Meanwhile, the singer admits that she has only been able to remain friends with one of her exes. “I do not believe in keeping ties with people who have hurt me in the past. We do not really hang out, but, we do give each other a buzz once in a way," she adds.

Kritika Kamra and Karan Kundra back together?

Ex flames Karan Kundra and Kritika Kamra who are also Balaji’s protégés, were spotted at the star studded Ekta Kapoor’s Iftar bash that took place last night. Though the two entered separately at the party, they landed up spending a lot of time together. Apart from having a good time at the bash, the two also ended up speaking to media together! Strange isn’t it?

Sparks flew between the two actors when they played onscreen lovers in Kitani Mohabbat Hai. But they parted ways due to reasons unknown. However, if one is to go by what Karan says, there is no bitterness between the duo. The actress was also quoted saying that their break-up wasn’t black and white. It’s not like we started hating each other because we weren’t dating any longer. That only happens in movies, not in real life.

Well, apart from this the actress is all set for her big Bollywood debut in Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar’s next venture that stars Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles.  Ex-beau Karan will also be making his Bollywood debut in Vikram Bhatt’s horror flick. But for now let’s concentrate on what is actually brewing between the two.

Kritika Kamra’s fun-filled shopping experience in Asia’s World City, Hong Kong!!

Date : 29/11/2012

She was invited by Hong Kong Tourism Board to visit their country.

40 copy

I was busy in my shoots as usual, and unexpectedly my manager called me up saying that Hong Kong Tourism Board has invited me to visit their country. I was doing my make-up and as soon as I heard that, I got excited and without giving it a second thought I agreed to visit the place.

I was heading to the Asia’s World City, Hong Kong and was equally excited!!

To ensure that I make the most of my trip, I pre-planned each and every hour from shopping,  sightseeing; yummy Chinese dining, my visits to theme parks; exploring the Chinese culture to everything. Thanks to the tourism board, they helped me with lining up the major attractions like Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park Hong Kong, Victoria Harbour, Sky 100 Hong Kong Observation Deck, Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car and the Big Buddha at the Po Lin Monastery.

Of course this included lots of shopping at the famous HK streets and enjoying the nightlife at Lan Kwai Fong.

Day 1

I arrived with an early morning flight to Hong Kong after which I headed towards the Taikoo Shing Road for the East Hong Kong Hotel. After refreshing myself at the hotel, I started my tour with a visit to the Hong Kong Ocean Park.

Ocean Park Hong Kong is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, animal theme and amusement park, situated in the Southern District of Hong Kong. I enjoyed “The Hair Raiser” a ride that goes upside down completely in air. The Dancing fountain and the refreshing spray made the Lagoon picturesque in the dark. At night this display is transformed into a stage for the world’s first 360-degree water screen show which was a visual delight for me. The ‘Amazing Asian Animals’ exhibits some of Asia’s rarest and precious native animals like giant pandas, red pandas, Chinese giant salamanders and Chinese alligators.

I then moved towards the newly opened attraction in Ocean Park – ‘The North Pole Encounter’ and ‘The South Pole Spectacular’. I was thrilled to see the exquisite pacific walruses, seals, and northern sea lions, chatting excitedly across the water. At the South Pole, I was surrounded in the world of the rarely found penguins including 70 penguins from three species – endearing king penguins, dramatic southern rockhopper penguins, and gentoo penguins.

We wrapped up for the day at the Chinese Restaurant by having some delicious Chinese dim-sums.

Day 2:

My second day began with the morning buffet breakfast at the hotel. There were varieties of cheese, breads, fresh juices, eggs, exotic fruits to choose from. The food at East Hong Kong Hotel was unbelievably sumptuous.

After having heart full of breakfast, we decided to reserve the day for shopping and experiencing Chinese culture. We first visited a Chinese Temple. It was a completely mesmerizing experience. I managed to interact with the Fortune Teller at the temple which added a hint of mystery to my trip.

We then left for Tsim Sha Sui through the very famous Star Ferry ride. It was beautiful to experience the Victoria Habour. I enjoyed the cool breeze and the spectacular view of the skyscrapers that covers the bay. After getting down at the harbour, we took a bus to the famous Ladies Market. I was fascinated to see themed markets aligned together such as sportswear market, luxury goods market, electronic market etc. Hong Kong is definitely a shopper’s paradise! I bought some make-up for myself with lot of bags, designer clothes and some gifts for my friends. They were never ending malls that housed all my favourite brands around the world.

Day 3:

I started my day with a visit to the Sky 100 Hong Kong Observation Deck which is the highest indoor observation deck in Hong Kong – all the way up on the 100th floor of the International Commerce Centre (ICC), the tallest building in Hong Kong! It was a breath taking experience of the 360-degree bird’s-eye view.

After Sky 100, we headed to the place where I always wanted to be since my childhood – Hong Kong Disney Land. The child in me was thrilled as soon as I entered the place. It was a trip down the memory6 lane as ‘Mickey’ and ‘Minnie’ used to be my favorite Disney character and I finally got a chance to meet them at the Flights of Fantasy Parade that happens every day. We first explored the newly open ‘Grizzly Gulch’ area. Then we went on to explore ‘The Adventure Land’, ‘The Toy Story Land’, ‘The Fantasy Land’, ‘Tomorrow land’ and ‘Main Street U.S.A’.

At night I saw the beautiful view of Disney in the form of Stars Fireworks in the sky.

Day 4

It was the day to witness the finale of the ‘Hong Kong Super Shopper Contest’. 9 teams from countries such as India, Mainland China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia and Thailand participated in a contest to compete for HK$200,000 as a Visa spending bonus. India was represented by Ms. Shweta Ganesh and Ms. Amruta Khatavkar from Mumbai.

After attending the finale, we went to Repulse Bay located in the southern part of Hong Kong Island; it’s the most spectacular beach in the region. Repulse Bay is a luxurious residential area for dining, relaxation, and aquatic activities.

Now, it was time to experience the night life of Hong Kong. Lang Kwai Fong is HK’s most happening place – hub to brilliant music and great ambience. I visited to ‘Pulp’ – bar and lounge for a Wine tasting session.  Designed to impress through its décor, music, cocktails and parties, Pulp sets the gold standard in Hong Kong’s pulsating nightlife. It was surely an unforgettable night out.

Day 5

It was the last day of my trip and I decided to reserve it for the best – my personal favourite place at Hong Kong – the Ngong Ping 360, a breathtaking 30 mins scenic cable car ride to the tallest outdoor seated bronze Buddha at Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island. I was spell bound with the view from the cable car ride. I could see the Giant Buddha from my cable car. I bought miniature jade Buddhas, three Gods of prosperity, fortune and health and a few laughing Buddhas for my friends. Shopping was never-ending for me.

From thrilling moments to magical surprises, Hong Kong was indeed a fun and unforgettable experience for me.

She became famous for her desi roles in TV shows like Kuch Toh Log Kahenge and Kitani Mohabbat Hai. And now, we have been told that Kritika Kamra is all set for her big Bollywood break.

Badtameez Dil) co-production starring Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor. The rom-com goes on floors in September or October, and will be shot in Mumbai and Delhi.

“Yes, Kritika has been finalised for the film as the second female lead. She has an interesting role alongside Kareena,” says an insider. “In fact, she had to go through multiple auditions and screen tests before being finalised for the part. She has already met the director, a few times, to discuss her role.”

To be helmed by newcomer Akshay Roy, the film will bring Kareena and Emraan together on the silver screen for the first time. Kritika was last seen in the show Ek Thhi Naayka.

Kritika Kamra's Bollywood dreams one of the reasons for Kuch Toh's early closure?

Date : 08/06/2013   Courtesy:

Sony Entertainment Television’s Kuch Toh Kahenge produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut managed to gain critical appreciation but never really went on to put the TRP chart on fire.

The show was first plagued with the sudden exit of lead Mohnish Behl and later low numbers always kept it under scanner.

And now we have learnt that one of the reasons of the soap’s early closure could have been female lead Kritika Kamra’s desire to make it big in the movies.

Said a source: “Kritika wanted to try her luck out in movies and quit Kuch Toh. She shared her plan with Rajan and the latter, instead of letting her lead go, decided to shut the show for everyone’s good.”

We tried to reach both Rajan and Kritika to get a confirmation on the development, but they remained unavailable.

Audience demands 'Kuch Toh Log Kahenge' season 2

Date : 09/05/2013    Courtesy :

This is indeed a time for some change of seasons! Well, not just literally in terms of weather outside, but also in terms of the weather of your television soaps.

Right after the huge demand for a second season of 'Parichay', now it's time to ask for the second season of the popular tele show, 'Kuch Toh Log Kahenge' on Sony Entertainment. The soap caught a lot of attention because of its starkly different story line, which though was a love story, but was quite remarkable on its own.

The story revolved around the male and female protagonists, played originally by veteran actor Monish Behl (later by Sharad Kelkar) and Kritika Kamra, with a huge age difference. The show managed to gain good TRP's owing to the unusual plot of the romantic story line, which had drama, comedy and some realistic romantic moments, despite the age gap of 18 years.

After successfully running for about 1.5 years, with some good amount of progress by way of the protagonists' happy marriage and thereafter, the show ended on 28th March, 2013, due to poor ratings. The ratings dipped on the back of Kritika Kamra's desire to quit the show. The actor, who shot to fame with 'Kitani Mohhaba Hai', spoke about her wish to take a break as she was finding the shooting chore quite grueling.

Nonetheless, the audience is dying to see her back on the show, as Dr. Nidhi, alongside her doctor husband, Dr. Ashutosh Mathur, on the second season of the show.

Innumerous tweets have flooded the page of the popular social networking site. There are ardent fans, requesting earnestly to start the second season as soon as possible. Tweets, especially by enthusiastic fans like Calvin and Suku, on theTwitter page clearly indicate that fans are waiting to hear some good news about the arrival of KTLK season 2.

The pair of Nidhi and Ashutosh is definitely on demand, as witnessed through the tweets of fans like Riya Irani, who expressed her desire to watch the duo together, once again. Fans are desperately trying to grab hold of information from iDubba, to get a clue about the show and its potential revival signs.

In fact, in response to iDubba's recently asked question on Facebook, fans generated a huge demand for the serial. Other than Parichay, KTLK was seen to be the talk of the town. The fans clearly have expressed their desire on the Facebook page, to revive the show, with its second season. I hope the actors as well as the makers are listening as the audience is growing restless about the missing daily soap.

Do share your views and feedback about this show on Twitter-iDubba and set reminders for your favorite shows on iDubba app..

It is a mixed feeling for the entire cast and crew of Rajan Shahi's Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. The team is shooting for the very last time today. With Holi round the corner, Dr. Ashutosh and Nidhi will also be seen playing holi on-screen for which they recently shot for. The entire cast and crew ate lunch together and are now looking forward to an enjoyable evening at the wrap up party. The man behind the show, producer Rajan Shahi will also be joining the cast and crew for the party.

TellyBuzz spoke to Rajan Shahi, who said, "It was a good journey and a very good team to work with. The team shared a very good rapport with each other.  It is a happy feeling for us that very few shows get a brand name and Kuch Toh Log Kahenge is one amongst them. We feel positive and the journey has been a pleasant one for all of us.  The team is going to chill out casually in the evening. The show will be ending on a happy note and will be enjoyed by the viewers too."

Sharad Kelkar says, "I am not feeling happy that the show is ending today but it has been a nice experience for me. It was a wonderful team, wonderful production house and a wonderful channel to work with. I enjoyed each and everyday on the sets. The talks of season 2 are going around I am looking forward to it. It was an honor to work with actors like Alok Nath and Vijay Kashyap who were part of this show. It was a big high for me."

When asked about the last day of shoot, he said, "We had our lunch together and we have few scenes left to do so. I can see sadness on each and every face passing by. Everyone is getting emotional scene by scene. We are trying to have fun to cope up with the sadness. I'll miss Kritika Kamra the most from the show. She is a great human being and a fantastic actress."

We wish the entire team of Kuch Toh Log Kahenge all the very best for all their future endeavors.

Kritika Kamra: I am single and ready to mingle!

Television actor Kritika talks about her experience with the paranormal, her journey with KTLK and her relationship status…

The vivacious actor Kritika Kamra wants to stay a mile away from saas bahu sagas and prefers roles that reflect her real age. Most recently seen in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge as Dr Nidhi, she is all set to go on a long vacation after the show ends. She spoke to BollywoodLife about her stint on Life OK and Ekta Kapoor’s Ek Thhi Naayka

What kind of research did you do for Ek Thhi Naayka?

To be honest, I did not do any homework for this role. You don’t need any research to play the heroine – after all, we’ve been doing it for so many years now! It would have been a different story if we were playing the daayans.

So would you like to play a daayan?

Of course, why not! I’d love to play a daayan if I was being launched in grand style.

Do you believe in the paranormal?

Yes, I do believe in supernatural things, because you hear so many stories about it that you are forced to believe in them. Moreover, it interests the human psyche.

Have you experienced anything supernatural?

It happens to me now and then, but it turns out to be some polythene under my bed or some breeze – nothing interesting to talk about really.

What has your journey been like with Kuch Toh Log Kahenge?

The KTLK journey from start to finish has been a memorable one. We’ve managed to keep the flow and the flavour of the show since we started, minus a few ups and downs, but I don’t consider TRPs the deciding factor. The show has been consistent, which is something very difficult for most shows to achieve in television. So hats off to the team of KTLK to be able to do that.

Who is the better co-star as Dr Ashutosh – Sharad Kelkar or Mohnish Behl?

That is such a difficult and unfair question! I really cannot choose. I started working with Mohnishji and it was great experience ‘coz he is someone I have grown up watching – and I got to work with him! As for Sharad, he is one of the most easygoing co-actors you can ever have. He is a fun person to work with, so that way I have been very lucky.

What have you learnt about being a doctor after KTLK?

I think I knew more about medicine before I did this show. My dad is a doctor, so I knew a little bit about it. But on television, you can’t really get into the knick-knacks of the field. I mean we don’t do as many surgeries; we are mostly doing love scenes.

How will KTLK end? Will Dr Nidhi have a baby?

You will have to watch it to find out! As for Dr. Nidhi having a baby – do you really want her to? I have not even become a full-fledged doctor yet. Currently there is too much happening in their lives; I do not know when they will even get time to have a baby. But if it’s the demand of the story then I am alright with it.

What are your plans after Kuch Toh Log Kahenge?

After Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, I am busy with Ek Thhi Naayka. Frankly, I have no time or space in my schedule. After that, I need a big long vacation.

Don’t you think that with your absence people may forget you?

I am not scared of dying out, ‘coz I have been doing shows that bring me before the viewers every day. It’s over-exposure, frankly, that one should worry about when it comes to television. We as actors have to keep things interesting and do shows that keep us going, otherwise life could get very monotonous. We need to keep refreshing ourselves.

Didn’t you ever consider doing saas bahu serials?

The saas bahu saga was something that I consciously stayed away from. TV has treated me well; look at me today – I am standing with the iconic bahus of the television industry in spite of doing only what I wanted to do. I have been doing only young and bubbly roles; I may have been criticised for it, but the love and adulation counts for a lot more.

Do you think the Indian television is regressive?

Yes, I definitely think so. At least, some of it is still regressive. When you’ve grown up watching international television, it does feel that TV here is regressive, but then so is our cinema. However, movies have a parallel side and I am sure the same thing will happen to TV eventually. But of course it’s all businesses at the end of the day and we have to keep in mind the needs of our viewers.

What’s your relationship status?

I am single and ready to mingle. I do not mind dating anybody, but that doesn’t mean I will date just any random person. The tarot reader just told me that I would meet my Mr Right in five months. So I am going to doll up every day now!

You are a youth icon – what is your message to the women of today?

To the women of all generations – they should stop sacrificing their needs and desires. We’ve seen it in our homes, on television and in cinema – the cost of glorifying a woman is too high. We are expected to be some sort of devis. I think people should get real and treat women as real and equals.

Kritika Kamra plans a vacation in Europe

Time to let your hair down and holiday under the sunny sky, kissing the gentle breeze.

Feels like holidaying? Well, that is exactly what Kritika Kamra is planning to do.

The lovely lady with curves so curvaceous that can cause road accidents can swear by the word “just chilling” right now, given the closure of her Sony TV show, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (it will air last on 28 March 2013).

Free time mein kya kare….chalo kahin ghum aate hain”, are the words that coined inside Kritika’s intelligent part of the body (we are talking about brains…you corny folks).

Yes, Kittu (as lovingly called in the industry) is all set to fly out to Europe wearing the holiday hat.

She tweeted, “Been busy with KTLK shoots...Last few days left! Planning a vacation after I get done. Any suggestions?’ (sic) first thing in the morning today (16 March 2013).

Later, in the day came another tweet that suggested the destination, “Itinerary for Europe in the making!! woohoooooo!’ (sic).

However, before the lovely lady leaves for Europe she is most likely to be shooting for an episodic of Ekta Kapoor’s Ek Thi Naayka for Life OK.

Have a blast… Kittu…maze karo

Women's Day Message : Women should stop sacrificing: Kritika Kamra

Date : 08/03/2013          Courtesy :  Times of  India

On world's international women's day, we had a candid chat with vivacious and stunning Kritika Kamra, who is doing rounds in the media for being the cause behind Kuch Toh Log Kahenge closure. The actress, who in spite of portraying the roles of a girl next door feels proud to be standing among the best Naayka's of TV today.

When asked Kritika on her views for International Women's day, the actress spontaneously said, "I think women must stop sacrificing for men or anyone in the world. Society should pull down the tag of 'Devi' from each woman and should treat her as equal. Don't know why people consider a girl as some supreme power and then take her for granted."

"We are living in the modern world and girls should be treated accordingly. A girl is a doctor, engineer, teacher and what not all. She has marked her presence in each profession but our Indian society and mentality doesn't allow her to live her own life," says Kritika.

Kritika Kamra is currently seen in Sony TV's Kuch Toh Log Kahenge which is all set to bid adieu to channel on 28th of this month.

Here we wish our readers a very Happy Women's Day!

Kritika Kamra denies getting back with Karan Kundra

Date : 08/01/2013  Courtesy :  Hindustan Times

Kritika Kamra and Karan Kundra ended their relationship over six months ago, but there have always been rumours about them getting back together. Adding fuel to the fire, the duo was spotted bringing in the New Year together in Thailand. Initially after the break-up, Kritika was known to get angry over such rumours, but when we ask her about them, she simply laughs, saying, “I’m not back with Karan. Yes, we were together on that trip, but there were 10-12 other people too. We were a huge gang from Balaji (Telefilms, production house), including Ekta Kapoor, Vishal Gandhi and Aditti Gupta. We visited Bangkok and Pattaya.”

The actor admits she’s used to being asked about her equation with Karan now. “The Oh-my-God- here-we-go-again feeling is long gone. There’s been so much back and forth, so this kind of news amuses me now. Perhaps people will get it this time,” she says. “Our break-up wasn’t black and white. It’s not like we started hating each other because we weren’t dating any longer. That only happens in movies, not in real life.”

Kritika insists that being friends with an ex is fine. “We have the same friends and we aren’t at loggerheads with each other. We were just hanging out, and we had a lot of fun. I am single and ready to mingle,” she says.

Not uncomfortable with Kritika: Karan

Date : 22/11/2012   Courtesy :

TV actor Karan Kundra is reuniting with former lady love Kritika Kamra for Channel V's new show "The Serial". But if you're expecting to see some discomfort between them, you're highly mistaken, says Karan.

"Kritika might be seen on the show. She will come on board. But there is no discomfort between us. We are good friends, and there is no problem in being together on a show," Karan told IANS.

Sparks flew between the two actors when they played onscreen lovers in "Kitani Mohabbat Hai" and then in the second season of the show. But they parted ways due to reasons unknown. However, if one is to go by what Karan says, there is no bitterness between the duo.

"All is fine with us. In fact, during the recent Mumbai bandh, we went out for lunch and I even took her to show the first edit of the show 'The Serial'. She liked it, and was clearer about the idea of the show once she watched it. So let's see, she should soon be on board even though she has a daily soap ('Kuch Toh Log Kahenge') going on," he said.

The format of "The Serial", which will go on air Monday, is unique - it is a non-fiction property, wherein popular TV actors will play themselves. Seen through the eyes of a 17-year-old named Rohan, it shows Karan, Pooja Gor and Sara Khan among a host of others, unfolding stories of the telly world.
Karan, who originally hails from Jalandhar, plays himself - a true-blue Punjabi boy. But he says this is a bigger challenge than essaying another character on screen.

"When you get to play a character, you can visualise how it would be. If it's a loverboy, how he will be, if it's a villain, how he needs to be... but what do you do when you have to play yourself! So it is a big challenge," said the actor, who is also getting active in the field of Punjabi films.

"I am producing one Punjabi film, and acting in two films. My family is proud and I am also quite proud of myself that I am able to do something to do with my roots," he added.

The Big Party Animal !!!!!!!!

Kritika Kamra

I am a big time party animal. In Mumbai, I like to party in Or-g; that’s my favourite joint. I even like Olives Bar. If I have to chill around with a bunch of my friends, I prefer going to The Little Door. But nothing can beat Goa; it is a capital of partying. Goa gives you the best of music, booze and you get to meet different types of people. Then, in Delhi also I have got many friends with whom I usually have a house party. From the television industry, I hang out with people like Karan Wahi, Additi Gupta, Sharad Kelkar, Vishal Malhotra among others.

Although Kritika appears in the promos along with former boyfriend Karan Kundra, she will not be a part of The Serial. Says Kritika, "I want to make it clear that I am not a part of The Serial. Adding, "There's no particular reason as to why I am not doing the show. I just chose to stay away from The Serial but all the people in it are really close to me and they are my good friends. I also know the promos that have my footage won't be misused. I have full confidence in them".

Talking about the show she adds, "I know references will be used. But it's not a Bigg Boss. There are incidents taken from people's personal lives. It's about being yourself. I don't know if it's wise, but it's a new format. Something that has never been done before. All the actors who are in it have agreed to the concept. It's looking really nice and the promos that carry my footage are old".

And soon the plot will see some more interesting twists and turns.

Our source informed us that in the upcoming episodes, Dr Ashutosh (Sharad Kelkar) and Dr Nidhi (Kritika Kamra) will find a small little orphan girl named Khushi and both will develop a liking for her. While Dr Ashutosh will feel that they should adopt the girl, Dr Nidhi will be apprehensive towards the responsibility.

Slowly, Dr Nidhi will also start liking the girl and will, in the process, get attached to her. But even after all this the couple will not adopt the girl. Seeing the girl’s apathy, Dr Nidhi will start to feel that motherhood is indeed a blessing and one should always go through the process of having children.

Kritika Kamra

Sony Entertainment Television’s Kuch Toh Log Kahenge recently completed 200 episodes and the cast and crew was super elated on achieving the feat. We caught up with the show’s female lead, Kritika Kamra aka Dr Nidhi, amd asked about his experience in the serial.

“It doesn’t feel like 200 episodes it just seems to be a big number to me. And when I rewind this journey in my head it feels like it just started. Though, a lot of hard work has gone in as we worked every single day to make things happen. But, it’s been so much fun that it feels like it just started yesterday.”
A lot has changed in the recent past in Kuch Toh… hence recollecting all of it the actor said, “From Mohnish ji (Bahl) to Sharad (Kelkar) playing doctor Ashutosh, to the time slot change, I have seen it all.” After a pause she added, “This show has also been the first one where I have been married so early on Indian television. Otherwise, I am usually wed in the last episodes (laughs).”

When asked what changes is the actress looking forward to in the coming episodes and she said, “I just hope that the show retains the flavour. That certain amount of audience that the show has created should stay with us. However, one interesting thing that I have experienced with this serial is that all the uncles have started liking my work. I remember earlier people would come up to me and say my mother likes your role but these days all fathers like it. The show has a niche audience but they are loyal.”

The story was earlier based on Dhoop Kinare so is it still going on? “Dhoop Kinare got over long back and since then they have been building up on the same story.” Does this mean the story is being stretched? “Every daily soap is stretched.” So doesn’t it get boring for you as an actor? “It gets monotonous to do the same thing but that’s challenging in itself. You must have something that motivates you every single day.”
So what motivates Kritika? “For me instant feedback and my team’s presence work. When I am appreciated for a certain scene and when my director comes and hugs me it helps me pull through the hectic work schedule.”

The audience is still waiting to see Karan Kundra and Kritika together. “Legacy that Kitani Mohabbat Hai has created will continue. And there is no doubt about our chemistry as we have known each other from closely. In fact our chemistry was great that is why we were cast together in the first place. I just hope this feeling that our fans have for us stays alive till we get a show to work together on.”

So do you plan to act always or is there is something else that interests you? “People on sets tease me because I have direction ka keeda. I always want to learn more and more about direction. In fact there are times when my director pulls my leg when I give my inputs in direction. Basically I like the technical aspect but I am acting for good and I am acting for sure.”

Karan and I couldn’t take care of our relationship: Kritika Kamra
Kritika Kamra with Karan Kundra
Kritika Kamra on her personal life and more, in a chat with Seema Sinha

What went wrong between Karan Kundra and you? There is no definite reason for my split with Karan. There was no fight. Both of us got very busy with our new shows and this took a toll on our relationship. It is really sad that we couldn't take care of our relationship. There was an emotional attachment, we were together 24/7, but he never proposed to me and I am glad he didn't. We never planned life, getting married in five years or anything of that sort. There were no talks of a breakup either. It was never like... 'Oh, it is over'. Today, we still have a comfort level and we can talk about anything. If there is anything new we do, any advice one of us needs, we call each other first.

There were rumours of the two of you wanting to do a dance reality show as a couple despite the breakup... News reports accused us of being part of a show for money and fame! Why would I fake a relationship? If so, why would I break up in the first place? I turned the show down the first time they called me. They asked me my relationship status and that's when I told them it is not happening.

You seem to have gained weight in recent times... you are looking much older in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge? My weight tends to fluctuate... that's because of the erratic work hours.

Why did Mohnish Behl leave the show? There were rumours of him not wanting to do some intimate scenes... We were told that it was because of some health issues. I don't want to comment any further, I don't know what was discussed internally. He was perfect for the role of Dr Ashutosh, no doubt, but Sharad is also good. Yes, when watching a show from the start, the audience tend to get attached to certain characters. But this is television, you have to replace and move on, nothing can stop the show. Nobody is indispensable.

Is Bollywood on your mind? There have been a few offers that were tempting but I couldn't take up because I am committed to this show. No project will wait for me for months because I can't give them a definite time frame. In the future, I would like to take a break once this show gets over, work on my lifestyle, groom myself, get introduced to acting schools, perhaps take an acting course in the US.
